Italy is in the Under 16 Semifinals at the Euroeans underway in Kiev! in corso a Kiev! Coach Antonio Bocchino’s boys, in their second consecutive semifinals, beat Turkey 82-73 to qualify. Making the achievement all that more prestigious is Italy’s first ever qualification for the Under 17  FIBA Worlds Mondiale FIBA Under 17 in Dubai.

The match immediately starts off strong with an inspired Italy and a Turkey not giving an inche. Like Coach Bocchino said, the pick and rolls are a problem, but Italy keeps up with their opponents. The first half ends with Italy ahead 44-41. Back in, Bocchino take on Turkey’s offense, allowing La Torre and Moretti, who’ve already done an excellent job so far, to emerge and shut down Turkey’s resistance. La Torre wins the challenge against Korkmaz racks up 28 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Davide Moretti closes out with 19 points, 2 rebounds 2 assists.

The Italian Nationals Summer 2013 is not over yet! The Mens Nazionale Under 16 has accomplished another great feat by making the top four teams in Europe for the second year in a row.
