Under 19’s Win Giromondo in Spoleto

The first outing was a lucky one for Mens Sana Basket’s Under 19s, who took the Torneo Giromondo in Spoleto on Sunday the 15th by beating the home team 100 – 59.

Coach Catalani commented, “It was the first official event after a few weeks of training, and we were curious to see ourselves at work all together on court. We got off to a good start both games and were able to get on the right track almost immediately. We had some highs and lows, taking off only to render them in vain with silly mistakes. That’s something we need to correct right away. Things looked good overall and we faced our opponents with the right attitude. We’re a largely new group that has to get to know each other. Romano still has to be added. He’s recovering from an injury but will really solidify our group. I want to thank Soc. Giromondo Spoleto for their wonderful hospitality and the opportunity to compete while we’re still in the training phase.”

The Under 19’s next tournament is the Torneo Internazionale Quarantelli in Borgotaro (Parma) September 28th and 29th.
