It’s a bitter away match for Montepaschi, who cedes Grissin Bon 67-59.

Reggio Emilia kicks off the night with a 13-0 break. Siena doesn’t score the first part of the opening quarter, until Carter unlocks the green-and-whites with a triple, followed by Ortner with a layup. Antonutti ends Montepaschi’s minibreak with a three. The ex St. Petersburg player responds with a center triple, but Reggio bas a ready respons and land seven consecutive points. First quarter ends 22-10.

Second quarter is strike and counterstrike between Bell and Carter. After 4’, Grissin Bon leads by l5 (30-15) and keeps a safe double figure distance through to the half. The score at the break is 35-23.

Hunter brings Montepaschi back within 10 at the start of the quarter. Bell widens the gap and goes to the line for a technical called on Siena.Viggiano scores on a fastbreak but misses the extra shot. Hackett’s alleyoop has the team trailing by only a single digit (37-29  5’30”). Bell’s free throws for a technical called on Hunter bring back a 10 point lead and start a break that puts Grissin Bon up by 15 (44-29). Carter triples to narrow the gap but the home team gets up by 10 again with 1’ left in the quarter (48-38). Karl and English close it out with free throws that bring the score to 53-38.

Montepaschi start off the final quarter with a 5-0 break that puts then down by 10 (53-43). Cinciarini ends the run, but Rochestie responds. White scores to make it 57-45 at mid quarter, while Viggiano and Ortner go to the line to bring Siena up to -8 (57-48).  The Italian-American lands four free throws and the score is not 57-53 at 4’. Cinciarini’s basket and Karl’s free throws put Reggio Emilia back up by 10 with 3’ left (63-53). Rochestie narrows the gap from the arc for Siena. Ress scores but doesn’t make the free throw (63-58 at 1’30”). Bell scores and the game ends 67-59.
