Venezia comes closer at the start of the second quarter and are down by 8 after (23-15). Carter and Hackett reset at double figure lead, and Ortner dunks for 29-15. Cournooh adds points from the line (2/2). Siena is up by 17 (34-17) and the score at halftime is 40-22.
After 4’, Montepaschi is up by 21 (49-28). Venezia, however, doesn’t lose heart and makes an 11-0 break. Siena keeps the lead and gets up by 15 (54-39 at 2’). The green-and-whites close out the third quarter ahead 58-40.
Venezia doesn’t give in and tries to score against a Montepaschi aiming to defend their lead. The green-and-whites lead 64-49 with 4’ left to play. The game proceeds along the same track and Siena wins it 69-54.
