Montepaschi Crushes Pesaro

Montepaschi conquers Adriatic Arena in Pesaro by beating Vuelle 69-94. It’s a balanced start as Siena gets up by 3 the first part of the quarter (7-10 after 4’). Pesaro takes the lead with baskets from Trasolini and Turner, but Ress scores for 11-12. Vuelle gets up by 4, then Hackett narrows the gap from the line (2/2). The Italian-American from Pesaro goes 100 percent at free throws and, with 2’ left, the score is 18-14. Siena narrows the gap again and the quarter ends 20-18.

Pesaro is up by 5 at the start of the quarter. Montepaschi makes a 14-0 break that brings the score 23-32 at mid quarter. Young ends Siena’s run, but English makes a fastbreak that kicks off a new run for Siena. The score is 25-39 at 2’. Siena is up by 21  and the teams head into the locker rooms with a score of 27-48.

Siena takes off at the start of the third quarter with Hunter and Cournooh. Trasolini ends the run, but Montepaschi keeps solid control of the game (+33, 34-67 at mid quarter). Pesaro tries to narrow the gap, but the scoreboard reads 47-76 at the third buzzer.

The green-and-whites maintain their lead and, midway through the final quarter, they’re ahead 56-92. The clock winds down. Pesaro creeks out some points, but Siena heads on to victory. The final score is 69-94.
