ERICK Green is back to his usual self after that championship game against Varese viewed mostly from the bench. It was rest that did him well, given the great numbers he brought last night in a game where he truly lent the team a big hand in every aspect. “If we’d played with the offense and defense we had fourth quarter, we would have brought home the game. It wasn’t easy adjusting to a team as strong as our opponents, but we tried the entire time during such a hard match.” The American point guard feels that the new guys did had an excellent impact on the group. “The guys that just came, Matt and Marquez, are really helping us out. They’ve blended in really well with us both on and off court, and we’re all really happy about that.” It was a bitter loss, but it increased the team’s awareness of their ability to compete in the group. “I don’t know how much this loss really counts against a great team like Khimki. Tonight, we proved we can compete against a high level team, and that’s really important.” Now, it’s back to the championhhship. “Milano? We know it’s a really important game. We haven’t really talked about it as a team yet because we had to focus on Eurocup, but we’ll try to do our best – try to win.”
