Marco Crespi was born in Varese on June 2, 1962 and his career boasts experiences like assistant coach of the Nazionale Italiana Bogdan Tanjevic from 1998 through the 2000 Olympics, with whom he won the gold medal at the 1999 Europeans. During that time, he was also head coach of the Under 22s.
From 1998-2000, he coaches Olimpia Milano (5th place in regular season the first year and 13th the second). In 2000/2001, he switches to Pallacanestro Biella, whom he leads to a promotion from A2 to the highest series.
The following season, he moves to Spain, where he works for a year as head coach of Seville in the ACB League.
In 2002/2003, he begins the championship as Scavolini Pesaro’s coach, but is replced by Stefano Cioppi in Aprilo. On December 6, 2004, he returns to an Adriatic bench to replace Phil Melillo, and makes Euroleague’s quarterfinals by eliminating teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona in the Top 16.
From 2003 to 2006, he has the prestigious job of Director of International Scouting for the NBA franchise, the Phoenix Suns.
From 2006 to 2012, he’s coached Junior Casale Monferrato, helping them earn an A Series promotion the 2010-2011 season. He resigned from that position on February 5, 2012.
In 2012/2013 season he arrived on Montepaschi's bench as assistant coach and in February he won the Italian Cup.
