Daniel Hackett was born in Forlimpopoli (FC) on December 19, 1987 and developed his skills with the youth sector at Victoria Libertas Pesaro, before moving, in 2003, to the United States at age 15 to study and play basketball at St. John Bosco di Bellflower High School in Los Angeles. After a very positive experience at the school, he accepts a scholarship to The University of Southern California (USC), playing starting point guard for the Trojans right from his freshman year. With them, he earns NCAA participation all three years and in 2009, for the first time in USC’s history, they take the conference title. The 2009-10 season, he heads to the Italian A series to play for Benetton Treviso, with whom he competes in the Eurocup. He signs with Scavolini Siviglia the following summer, thus making his return to Pesaro. His first season with the Vuelle sees him become the club from The Marche’s top scorer, with 14.3 points per game in 30 matches played. Last championship, he closed out with an 11 ppg in an average of 31.4 minutes. The next season he arrived in Siena and in February he won the Italian Cup. He was also named Mvp of the event.

HACKETT AND THE NATIONALS He participates with the Italian Nationals at the Europeans in Lithuania the summer of 2011. March 11, 2012, at the All Star Game in Pesaro, he leads the Italian Nationals to a win over the foreign player group, scoring 27 points and earning the game’s MVP title.
