Giacomo Baioni was born in Pesaro on January 15, 1976.
His career starts as instructor for the minibasket and the youth teams. For the season 2001/2002 he is the assistant coach for the Falco Pesaro in the B-eccellenza league. The following season he gets to the Vuelle (Pesaro main team) where he starts coaching the Junior team. For the season 2003/2004 he is chosen as assistant coach of the Under 16 Italian National Team and at the same time he cooperates with Pesaro Senior team becoming, the following year, their full time assistant coach. Together they will win the B eccellenza league and consequently they land to the Legadue and the next year to the major league.
During the season 2007/2008 he is picked as assistant coach of the Under 18 Italian National Team and also continues his experience as assistant coach with the Pesaro Team. With them he will take part in the Eurochallenge and later in the Final Four in Gottingen (2009/2010). He signs for the Montepaschi for the season 2010/2011.
In October of 2010, the new season's first trophy arrives with the Supercoppa.
