Francesco Papi was born in Siena on July 1, 1989.

He plays for Montepaschi Siena’s youth sector and wins the 2004 Cadetti National Title. The 2009/2010 sports year, he begins his journey coaching Mens Sana Basket youth athtletes as assistant coach to the Under 13s, Under 14s and Under 15 Eccellenza, and the Under 17 Open.He also begins collaborating with the A Series analyzing videos. He becomes the Under 14’s head coach in 2010/2011 and assistant coach to the Esordienti, Under 15 Eccellenza andUnder 17 Eccellenza. The latter two categories make the finals. Papi continues his work analyzing footage for the A Series and participates in the Coppa Italia in Torino, which Montepaschi wins. The 2012/2013 season, he becomes head coach of the Under 13s (1999) and Under 17 Elite (1995/1996), and assistant coach to the Under 19 Eccellenza, who take second place at the National Finals in Udine. The 2012-2013 season, Papi continues leading the Under 14s and assisting the Under 17 Eccellenza and Under 19 Eccellenza. In July 2013, he flies to Brazil with BasketBall Generation in a camp at Fortaleza. This past summer, Papi represented Montepaschi in a Euroleague master’s program on Match Analysis.
