A home win for Mens Sana Basket’s Under 13’s over Grosseto by a score of 80-48. The green-and-whites immediately start off strong on defense, recovering balls and finding easy solutions on fastbreaks. Thanks to good defense, which produces a lot of steals, Coach Papi’s boys end first quarter with a 19 point lead (30-11). Second quarter, Siena’s precision at shooting declines, but team defense allows Mens Sana to limit the guest team to only 4 points. Siena continues finding their way to the basket second half, and defense is able to keep Grosseto contained.

Coach Papi commented, “I’m pleased with the game all the boys played. They tried to make use of all the things we worked on in practices. I really like how the started the game defensively, communicating well amongst themselves and trying to help each other in times of trouble.”
